Original German WWI Complete M17 Steel Helmet
Up for sale is a very nice and original German WWI M17 Steel combat helmet, complete with the original liner! These helmets are extremely difficult to find in a complete state – making this helmet very desirable. The leather pads show heavy signs of use and were originally white! These white pads were typically issued during the late war period of WWI as leather was short – and these were made from goat skin. Thus we can infer that the helmet may have been produced around 1918. Although likely only used for 1 year, this helmet must have seen heavy use as the pads are so worn. Also a very nice feature of this helmet is that the chinstrap hooks are still in place. All in all a very solid and great combat helmet!
