Original German WWII Transitional Austrian Helmet
Up for sale is a very nice and original German WWII Transitional Austrian WWI helmet with no decal. This helmet was a very interesting life, starting out as an Austrian WWI helmet, and then being re-issued during the Third Reich for use during WWII. The outside of the helmet still retains its factory refinished green coating, and was issued without a decal.
The inside of the helmet is fitted with a 1938 dated leather liner and chinstrap. The liner is in great shape and appears to have been unused. Unfortunately with time the chinstrap has broken in the middle, although is still attached and dated nicely.
