German WWI M16 Reichswehr Helmet

$3,000.00

Offered from our personal collection is a very rare and desirable German Inner war Reichswehr Helmet. This helmet originally began its life as a WWI issued Model 1916. After surviving WWI, it was then re-issued to the German Reichswehr, consisting at times with roughly only 100,000 men. Thus making the helmet extremely rare to find, let alone in such immaculate condition. The Reichswehr subsequently repainted this M16 with a beautiful early bright green color, a matching early war M16 leather liner, a complete WWI chinstrap and lastly a hand painted black, white and red National Shield Decal. The inside leather liner unfortunately is missing 1/3 liner pads, although luckily the back right pad is named and numbered. With all of these early characteristics we can infer that this helmet was likely a very early piece and one definitely issued prior to the 1933 Wehrmacht transition. This helmet is truly museums quality and a desired helmet that would fit as a center piece in and die hard helmet collections!
