Original German WWII Normandy Tri-Color Named M35 SD Heer Helmet
Apart of our personal collection is an original German WWII M35 SD Heer Normandy Camouflage 3 Tone helmet. We were told this helmet was actually mailed home shortly after the invasion from France and actually still today has an ID tag applied to the top of the helmet. This helmet came straight from the woodwork and was originally found by a house flipper un upstate NY. After purchasing a home and doing renovations, he found this stashed away in a closet (Presumably done by the veteran). The helmet is 100% untouched, and one of the nicest ones we have ever come across. One of our favorite features of the helmet is the Heer decal peaking though the 3 tone applied camouflage. A true Normandy bringback!
A theory we have on the helmet is that it may have been a surrendered helmet towards the end of the invasion. The inside brim is named – however, it is scratched out. With that, we think it could have been scratched out before the soldier surrendered to avoid being identified after his capture.
