Original German WWII M40 Heer Helmet
Up for sale is a very nice and original German WWII M40 Heer single decal helmet. This helmet has a very honest & untouched patina, with a nice feldgrau (Field Grey) overpaint and wear.
The inside of the helmet is nearly missing the leather liner completely, though luckily the liner and liner pins remain. As for why the helmet liner was removed, we are unsure – though leather liners were often removed from combat worn helmets due to sweat that had soaked into the leather. More over, this example has a cut leather liner which is another tell tale sign of a combat used liner. Overall a very nice and untouched German WWII helmet!
