Original German WWII M40 Dark Overpaint Camo Named with Liner
Up for sale is a very interesting German WWII M40 dark overpaint camo helmet. This helmet has a typical brush paint job with an unusual dark black coating. Under this coating we can see traces of the original green color that was used before its camouflage. The inside of the helmet is also very interesting to see as the brim was named with the same paint helping us originate this paint job. The leather liner is complete, and interestingly the chinstrap was replaced with a late war Luftschutz helmet liner.
Manufacture and batch number are both hard to read but likely size 64.
