German WWII M35 Tropical / DAK Heer Helmet
Up for sale is a very nice and original German WWII M35 DAK (Afrika Korp) / tropical sand camouflage helmet. This helmet is in a very great and honest condition with natural wear and strong colors, that could easily be a center piece of your collection. The helmet was most likely used in the African Campaign by a German soldier. Looking around the shell we can see heavy signs of a tan overpaint covering the original apple green SD Heer helmet. This type of German camo is considered to be a Southern Front/ DAK / Tropical pattern due to its tan and desert type coating that would have been consistent with a hot and dry climate such as Libya, or Greece.
The leather liner is still very soft and shows minor signs of use throughout. Most of the leather wear is seen on the chinstrap which was most likely heavily used, and normal to see with combat used helmets. Some darker areas of the liner are distinctive to use and sweat. The original draw string is included.
