Original German WWII Vet Bringback – Named M40 SD Luftwaffe Helmet
Apart of our personal collection is a very interesting German WWII M40 Luftwaffe helmet. This piece came straight from a Veterans home which was donated to a local antique dealer after some decorating help. The helmet staid with the dealer for an additional 15 years before passing on to us. The helmet is in excellent shape and most interestingly unit marked as well as named. All around the inside brim is named with the first, last and rank. The leather is also marked with a field post number. More so this helmet also had a paper stuffed inside which depicts where the helmet was found. It reads “Found 1945 Fliegerthorst Kaserne Hanau, Germany.” or Found 1945 Kaserne Airbase in Hanau Germany.
