Original German WWII Luftschutz Gladiator Helmet
Up for sale is a very nice and original German WWII Luftschutz Gladiator Helmet. This particular helmet is referred to as a 3 piece conversion, due to the 3 pieces that make up the helmet. These helmets would have been issued by the German Luftschutz for mostly civilian use. Most common uses of the helmets were for protection against air raids. Interestingly this helmet shows a lot of period use, and is even named! 3 holes have been drilled through the shell which could have even once hung the helmet during the war.
The inside of the helmet still shows areas of the original leather liner. The leather is in great shape with some areas of cracking on the brim. The dome however likely sat for some time with moisture pooling. For this reason we see heavy signs of rust. The manufacture maker is :Vertrieb Genehmigt Gemass § 8 Luftschutzgesetz Kopfweite: 54
