Original German WWII Heer M42 SD Helmet Shell
Up for sale is a very nice and original German WWII M42 Heer helmet shell. This piece would make a great starting helmet, that is affordable and still offers great display-ability. The exterior shell is in good condition with only minor areas of bare metal showing. The shell still has its original Field Gray or Feldgrau factory coating, which looks very nice with the contrasting Heer Decal. The inside shell still contains the original liner band, but is missing its leather components. We believe this may have been a capture item, where the GI ripped the smelly/ blood soaked liner out from the helmet. Since parts of the original chinstrap are still present, we can eliminate the fact that the liner rotted out. This helmet is very attractive and would make for a great addition to anyones collection.
