Original German WWII Cloth Luftwaffe Observer Badge
Up for sale is a very nice and original German WWII Cloth Luftwaffe Observer Badge.
This Luftwaffe Observer’s badge was was one of the first badges for which ‘Reichsmarchall Hermann Göring’ noted in 1935. It wasn’t until 1936 though when the first award was issued. To be awarded this insignia, a Luftwaffe member would be required to complete two month qualifying service, after five operational flight as observer, or if the recipient was wounded while posted as observer (prior to the completion of the 5 flights).
Regarding this badge in particular, it is a nicely machine-embroidered cloth example which has been padded with a black backing. Overall a very nice original cloth version of the Luftwaffe Observer Badge!
