Original German WWII SS Sleeve Eagle Cut Off
Up for sale is a very rare and original, German WWII SS Sleeve eagle that appears to be cut from a German tunic. This set comes from the world class SS insignia collector, Tony Barto. He believed this item to have been an original cut off, but after further investigating we found that this set is not completely matching. Both the eagle and backing are original, although do not belong together. The backing is part of an SS Zeltbahn, and the eagle is from an SS tunic. Likely these two were put together to fool collectors into thinking this was a tunic removed cut off. This would have been indicative of US war trophies from WWII. Overall the “cut off” is still a great item, which features original parts and would make for a fantastic display piece as it has for many years.
