US WWII Army M-1943 I Corps Field Jacket
Up for sale is very nice and original US army WWII era M-1943 Field Jacket. This jacket is one of the nicest examples ive come across, with 2 Tech 5th Class ranking patches and a Unit I Corps Insignia all originally applied. This is a period used piece during the Pacific campaign and most likely the invasion of New Guinea or the Philippines! The jacket has four pockets total. It has no liner and is in used condition. No rips or tears can be noted. The inside is marked :

The I Corps were reactivated for service in World War II, & took command of divisions in the South Pacific, leading US and Australian forces as they pushed the Japanese army out of New Guinea. It went on to be one of the principal leading elements in the Battle of Luzon, liberating the Philippines. It then took charge as one of the commanding headquarters in the occupation of Japan.
