Original WWII Library Book From Adolf Hitlers Private Collection – 1939

$800.00 $600.00

Up for sale is a very rare and special piece that potentially was in Adolf Hitlers Personal Collection. Baldur von Schirach, the leader of the Hitlerjugend, claimed that Hitler had about 6,000 volumes and that he had read each one. Other estimates put his collection at 16,000 volumes. Historians say that 2/3 of his collection was untouched and that the remaining items contained his own notes and marks. Unfortunately, no records exist to confirm this amount as several books would have been destroyed (Or Captured) by The Allies.

The book and Adolf Hitler book plate are both original pieces, although in the mid 1990s, a hoard of the original bookplates were found unattached. Since this time, collectors and dealer alike have re-applied the stickers to increase the value of some books. Unfortunately I am unable to confirm if this sticker was 100% original to the book, although as the book is about forestry, and nothing very significant – my premonitions is that the pieces were likely together.  Thanks to the help of some other collectors, a collective option is that the book plates edges do not have consistent dark glue areas around the edge of the book plate – and is potentially was added post war.

No major damage or ripped pages have been noted.
